Gemotions

The gentle rocking of the hammock, suspended between two sturdy oaks, was the only movement in the shaded backyard. Michael, eyes closed, listened to the rustling leaves and the distant murmur of traffic. The weight of his worries seemed to dissipate with each gentle sway. He felt a deep sense of peace that he cherished.

A shadow fell across him. It was Mr. Thompson, his face grim. "Michael," he said, his voice sharp. "That construction! The hammering! It's too much!"

Michael sighed, opening his eyes. The serenity was punctured. He sat up, the hammock momentarily still. "I'm terribly sorry, Mr. Thompson," he replied, his tone even. "I'll see if I can get them to be quieter." He pushed himself from the hammock, the sensation of rocking lingering.
